Gleichmann Electronics signs Europe-wide distribution agreement with ITW Switches
Pushbuttons, switches, switch panels and connectors are now also in product portfolio
(PresseBox) (Stuttgart (Germany)/Portsmouth (UK), )Effective from September 1, 2008, ITW Switches, headquartered in Portsmouth (UK), has assigned Europe-wide distribution rights for its complete product portfolio to Gleichmann Electronics. ITW Switches, a daughter company of the publicly traded electronics and engineering business corporation Illinois Tool Works (ITW), represents various brand names such as ITW McMurdo Connectors, ITW ErgComponents, ITW Switches and ITW Switchpanels. The product portfolio ranges from pushbuttons and diverse slide and toggle switches, and customized switch panels to commercial D-sub, DIN 41612 and other connectors.
As James Pridmore, Sales Manager for Germany, France and Italy, during the signing of the agreement emphasized; ITW Switches very consciously looked for a design-in oriented distributor like Gleichmann Electronics. "In order to take a long-term leading position in the electromechanical market, above all innovative and high-quality products are required. In our opinion, however, at least as important today is the ability to react extremely fast and flexibly to specific customer needs. Without the support of an experienced, technically competent partner like Gleichmann Electronics in Europe, this is difficult to achieve on a broad basis - even for a large global manufacturer. In this respect, Gleichmann Electronics and ITW Switches form an ideal team."
Thomas Klein, Managing Director of Gleichmann Electronics, also views the cooperation with ITW Switches as far more than just a pure sales partnership. "ITW Switches and Gleichmann Electronics have a common business philosophy with the focus on customer satisfaction. The inclusion of the complete product portfolio from ITW Switches in our own sales program offers us the chance, much more than until now, to address the needs of the customers. It has always been our goal not only to offer customers individual products, but customized complete solutions. Revolutionary technologies such as the ITW ActiveTouch(TM) series bring us once more much closer to this goal."
