With its product INSPIRATION and in collaboration with its partner Ubisense, getit has developed a special online shop focussing on G2B and G2C for the German state government agency Hessische Verwaltung für Bodenmanagement und Geoinformation (HVBG). The sophisticated E-commerce platform provides official basic geodata, updated daily, for the most varied customer segments, from commercial customers, government agencies and surveyors to private customers. INSPIRATION, as an integrative solution for the state of Hessen, is a unique system in Germany that links sales and production processes of official geodata. INSPIRATION drastically simplifies and optimises the integrated processes.
Quality achieved through standardisation and automation
First of all the existing Intershop-Enfinity shop component was migrated to a more current software version for INSPIRATION. And getit modified all of the interfaces to support the standard "GeoInfoDok 6," thus fulfilling the specifications issued by the task force of the surveying agencies of the German states requiring provision of the data from the real estate register and the ordnance survey. Via these interfaces, the shop system requests raster data and geotagged attribute data produced by the geodata system. With processes that can be tested automatically, getit ensures that the quality of the E-commerce solution remains consistently high. "We are enthusiastic about the product INSPIRATION. getit's high quality demands and outstanding technical know-how allow us to market our stock of geodata through a strong and sustainable E-commerce platform," explains Uwe Mattler, project manager at HVBG.
Intelligent optimisation of business processes
As a model solution, INSPIRATION enables optimisation of all of the system's and the customer's business processes based on geodata: Administrative expenses are minimised, the time required is reduced and the quality is maximised. All of these factors prove the merits of INSPIRATION and confirm that even an unusual product range can be successfully marketed with the right E-commerce solution. Christoph Hecker, getit managing director, praises his employees: "Thanks to our highly qualified experts in the most varied sectors of E-commerce, we were able to implement this highly unusual online shop and continue to provide support. The result speaks for getit."
