Lightweight construction components for engines

Material combination made of Fluoroelastomers and Stanyl® PA 46
(PresseBox) (Neuss, ) Dyneon GmbH, a subsidiary of science-based company 3M, will be presenting its product portfolio for the chemical and automotive industry at the 2015 DKT/IRC International Rubber Conference and Exhibition. The technical experts will showcase the two component material for lightweight automotive construction. The combination of Stanyl® polyamide 46 from materials producer DSM and 3M Dyneon Fluoroelastomers has created a unique two-component material to support the growing trend for lightweight automotive construction.

The lightweight design material combination for applications in the entire powertrain opens up new possibilities for more energy and weight-efficient vehicles. It is manufactured using two high-performance materials - Stanyl polyamide 46 from DSM and Fluoroelastomers from Dyneon in an economical two-component injection moulding process.
