New Double Deck Truck EXD-S 20

Liftpallet truck with two load levels
New Still EXD-S 20 double deck lifttruck (PresseBox) (Hamburg, ) The ever growing volume of transported goods requires better use of the space available on lorries in order to reduce the number of journeys. Optimised loading is also a cost saving advantage for the logistics service providers in this competitive market. Making full use of the available height means a gain of up to 30 percent more space for pallets that cannot be stacked, e.g. yogurt cups. This is why double deck loading is becoming more and more important. Market research predicts great opportunities for double deck equipment. In Germany or Europe respectively, over 50,000 units are forecast to be in operation by 2010.

Against this background the Hamburg based Still GmbH is continuing its warehousing product range offensive at a high pace, including the double deck vehicles. The EXD-S 20, a 2.0 ton truck, is a heavy duty double deck vehicle derived from the EXU-S as another vehicle in the range of modular trucks by now being made by Still for several years. This means that the motor frame, the cockpit and many other components are identical. The load capacity of each pair of forks in double deck operation is 1,000 kilograms.

The integrated height detector allows different driving speeds depending on the travel direction and load. Depending on the preferred application, different mast heights are available for loading lorries and for stacking. The truck is available with two different battery trays, for 450 or for 600 ampere hour batteries. The battery is changed from the side.

With the EXD-S Still has created a vehicle combining improved performance with ergonomics and a modern design. This way nothing will stand in the way of an increase in double deck loading.
