Aptina MT9V126: Intelligent Sensor for Automotive Applications

Micron MT9V125 (PresseBox) (Pullach b. München, ) Aptina Imaging-Micron's imaging division was given this new name in March-presents the successor of the MT9V125 system-on-a-chip: The new 1/4 inch system-on-a-chip CMOS sensor MT9V126 features VGA resolution and an NTSC/PAL output and shines with a high photosensitivity of <1 lux and powerful integrated image processing capabilities.

The electronic image processing of this system-on-a-chip can correct distortions of up to 25 percent-ideal for panorama lenses in automotive applications, for instance. Added to that, functionality for both perspective control and field of view selection and output is directly integrated into the MT9V126.

The low power system features a total power consumption of less than 300mW and allows dynamic superimposing of texts and/or diagrams onto the real time video image, supporting alpha channels (transparency) in the process and scaling the overlays according to a predefined distance. In this way, the MT9V126 enables to implement graphical driver support functionality in systems such as parking assistance, lane recognition or adaptive cruise control without additional image processing hardware.
