ThinPrint's Latest solution - .print Management Center - automates the setup and administration of any printing environment
(PresseBox) (Berlin, )Companies with a large printer landscape must expend enormous effort setting up and managing their print servers manually. The newest member of the .print product family - the .print Management Center - now provides for simplified setup and management of these complex environments. The new ThinPrint solution automates the administration of print servers and makes manual setup unnecessary. Thanks to the database-supported graphical display of the new software solution, even extensive changes in the printing infrastructure can be made in no time with just a few mouse clicks.
The new solution is a supplement to ThinPrint .print - the print management solution used around the world to optimize print processes in companies of every size and in every industry. With one mouse click, the .print Management Center provides the administrator with an overview of all printers installed at headquarters and in the branch offices. The necessary printer objects and ports are automatically created on the central print servers; a task that had to be performed manually until now.
The administrator can then use the .print Management Center to centrally configure bandwidth availability for the print data, the number of ports it is distributed over, and whether the data should be SSL-encrypted. This aspect of the solution makes it particularly convenient to configure the Printer Virtualization Layer, which enables driver free printing from Windows Terminal Server - or virtual or real desktops - to thin clients, ThinPrint Gateways, or network printers.
A practical feature: configuration of the printer landscape can be tested first. If the administrator is satisfied with the results, he clicks a button to start the actual operation.
If something in the printer landscape changes, the administrator is automatically alerted by colored icons in his user interface.

"Using dedicated print servers has significant advantages and is clearly preferred by experienced administrators - particularly in midsize and large environments," says Charlotte Künzell, General Manager, ThinPrint .print. "We are delighted that the new .print Management Center now allows us to provide a comprehensive tool that not only saves system administrators significant time and costs when planning and setting up a print server concept, but also makes concise management possible."
The .print Management Center can be used in classic networks and also in environments based on modern virtualization technology or server-based computing.
The .print Management Center is now available from more than 500 channel partners worldwide.
