Jenoptik presents innovations at the "Laser 2009" in Munich in June

(PresseBox) (Jena, ) At the "LASER World of Photonics" in Munich in June Jenoptik will be showcasing a wide portfolio of products. These include new optics for laser material processing, fiber-coupled diode lasers with single emitters, OEM fiber lasers as well as laser systems for industrial applications.

The Optical Systems and Lasers & Material Processing divisions of the Jenoptik Group cover the entire added value chain in the area of laser technology - from optics for laser material processing, through to complete laser process systems for industrial use. The highlights at the trade fair will include a new fiber-coupled diode laser with single emitters, the new OEM fiber laser in the JenLas® fiber series as well as the new laser system for the photovoltaics industry, the JENOTPIK-VOTAN(tm) Solas.

The high beam quality of the fiber-coupled diode laser with single emitters makes it particularly suitable as a pump source for fiber lasers. The module achieves an optical output power of 50 Watts in continuous operation from a 105 µm fiber. The diode laser is passively cooled through heat conduction making it very user-friendly. In addition to its high brilliance and high level of efficiency another advantage of the new diode laser module is its compact construction.

With the new OEM fiber laser series JenLas® fiber Jenoptik is taking another key step towards becoming a total provider of laser equipment for industry and expanding its product range through the addition of robust high-power fiber lasers for a range of applications in the area of laser material processing.

The development of the JENOPTIK-VOTAN(tm) Solas 1800 by Jenoptik represents an expansion of its activities in the photovoltaics market. The system combines laser technology know-how in every aspect of the IR50 disk laser with complex system technology. The new system will be used for drilling minute holes in solar cells based on wafer material through which the energy is discharged. The JENOPTIK-VOTAN(tm) Solas1800 will be offered in two versions, a standalone system for the development of new products and processes plus a module for integration into existing production lines.

In Munich, the Optical Systems division will be presenting new lenses and beam expanders for laser material processing, for example variable 1x-4x beam expanders with quartz lenses plus a number of new developments from the JENar® product series. These include new F-Theta lenses with expanded focal length of 170 mm for 532 nanometers and 1064 nanometers based on new, more resistant materials which can be used to significantly reduce the risk of damage to the lens resulting from ever increasing laser outputs.

These and other new developments from the Jenoptik Group will be showcased from June 15-18, 2009 at the LASER World of PHOTONICS in Munich on the Jenoptik Booth 311 in Hall C2.
