The screen makes a difference!

eyevis video wall in a 112 centre (PresseBox) (Reutlingen, ) Display wall cubes are used for a variety of different application areas like traffic control, transportation, telecommunication, utilities, process control, etc. Often the primary focus lies in the specification of the projection engine, that drives the image (such as resolution, lamp life time, brightness , etc),. However, the screen, on which the image is projected to is an important component in the complete cube structure as well.
The screen is a main driver of the image quality, and a variety of different screens are available (such as Black Bead Screen, Beta Screen, Ultra Contrast Screen) to meet individual requirements.
The screen should be chosen based on the environment and user application in which the display wall will be installed, and the different screens offer different conditions in terms of resistance to ambient light, brightness, viewing angles, etc.
New screen types have been introduced to the market and one became the new state-of-the-art screen for control room applications: The Cross Prism Screen. This screen is based on the latest developments within the projection screen technology field, and pushes the boundaries even further in terms of image brightness, viewing angles and resistance to ambient light.
In addition to the improved optical specifications, these new screens also offer improved material characteristics: A special type of copolymer material is used for producing the screens, and the result is a lower sensitivity to changes in temperature and relative humidity.
For other applications like TV studios, the most suitable screen is the Black Bead screen because of the different viewing angles of the cameras.
