Oerlikon Neumag looks forward to new impulses on BCF carpet yarn lines at ITMA Asia

Good start in 2010 for Oerlikon Neumag
(PresseBox) (Neumünster, ) Shortly prior to this year's most important textile machinery exhibition ? the ITMA Asia in Shanghai ?, Oerlikon Neumag is looking back on a successful business in the BCF carpet yarn lines sector. Since the end of last year, the entire textile machinery sector has been experiencing a strong upswing. In the first months of 2010, Oerlikon Neumag was able to conclude more than 20 orders with leading carpet producers all over the world. More than half of the capacities relate to production lines for polyester yarns - a development that is unrivalled in history. Oerlikon Neumag is looking forward to more interesting discussions at the ITMA Asia.

"In particular, the increase in the demand for BCF carpet yarn lines was so strong in the first months of this year that our expectations have been exceeded by far", says Georg Stausberg, CEO of Oerlikon Neumag. Already more than 20 orders covering plants for the production of BCF carpet yarns have been concluded, among others, with customers from Brazil, the USA, Turkey, China and Russia. Here the order volume exceeds an annual production capacity of more than 100,000 tons.

"Lines for the production of BCF yarn from polyester are a strongly increasing market segment in which we were able to achieve extraordinary successes. Fortunately, thanks to consistant product enhancement, we were in a position to also strengthen our market position in the established sectors, the plants for polypropylene and nylon", says Stausberg. He is looking forward to the ITMA Asia with keen anticipation.

With a market share of more than 65 percent, Oerlikon Neumag has been maintaining its position as a market leader for more than 8 years. More than 50 percent of the lately sold capacities relate to plants for the production of carpet yarns from polyester. Nearly all polyester BCF yarns worldwide are produced on Oerlikon Neumag lines. The increased demand for polyester has different reasons. First and foremost, the yarns can be produced with more costefficiency than others. For experts, polyester will be the raw material with the highest rate of growth in the future. This is a development that is unrivalled in history.
