Software AG today announced the publication of Process Intelligence For Dummies®, Software AG Special Edition. The book, written by Software AG and IDS Scheer executives, focuses on process intelligence in action and delivers information organizations can use to discover cost savings in their business and see precisely where waste and loss is occurring. Process Intelligence For Dummies® includes application scenarios and best practices for Process Intelligence. It also details 10 pitfalls to avoid. The authors will introduce the book at ProcessWorld 2010, taking place today in Washington, D.C. at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center.

"Process Intelligence has quickly emerged on the business landscape as the way for people to excel in the modern processoriented world," said Bruce Williams, coauthor and Senior Vice President of Strategic Programs, Software AG. "Process Intelligence For Dummies® is a basics book, yet it thoroughly describes both the business management and information technology sides of the story and delves into the processcentric value which Process Intelligence delivers."

Process Intelligence is a welldesigned and engineered set of tools and techniques that organizations use to improve performance by seeing precisely where waste and loss is occurring.

Process Intelligence helps companies identify immediately when a business process, activity, or transaction encounters a delay or error and uncover weaknesses and areas of exposure in any part of a process or activity. Managers can understand the connections between highlevel strategy and operational activities and see how the relationships between companies, customers, and suppliers are working.

"Hundreds or even thousands of processes are active across the enterprise. How well you understand and manage them defines your success," said Dr. Helge Hess, coauthor and Senior Vice President of Product & Solutions Management, IDS Scheer. "Particularly in today's unpredictable and everchanging economy, organizations are challenged to monitor and analyze processes in realtime to react more quickly to business events. Process Intelligence systems offer a solution to this challenge by combining the technologies for monitoring past and present performance, planning support for the future, and supporting immediate operational needs."

Process Intelligence For Dummies® was coauthored by five subject matter experts from Software AG and IDS Scheer: Dr. Tobias Blickle, Director of Product Management for Process Intelligence Solutions, IDS Scheer, who has published several articles about Process Intelligence;

Dr. Helge Hess, Senior Vice President of Product & Solutions Management, IDS Scheer, who is a frequent speaker at BPM conferences and events and has written numerous articles and coauthored books about Business Process Management, Process Intelligence, Performance Management, and Organizational Analysis; Joerg Klueckmann, Director of Product Marketing for Process Intelligence Solutions, IDS Scheer, who has written numerous articles about Business Process Management, Business Innovation, and Process Intelligence; Mike Lees, Vice President of Enterprise BPM Solutions, Software AG, who is coauthor of BPM Basics For Dummies; and Bruce Williams, Senior Vice President of Strategic Programs, Software AG, who frequently writes and speaks on topics about business and technology trends and is coauthor of Six Sigma For Dummies, The Six Sigma Workbook For Dummies, Lean For Dummies, and BPM Basics For Dummies.
