Broadcom CEO Scott Mc Gregor elected to Ingram Micro board of directors

(PresseBox) (Santa Ana, Calif., ) Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor, today announced that its board of directors elected Scott A. McGregor, president and chief executive officer of Broadcom Corporation, to serve as an independent director effective June 25, 2010.

In his current role at Broadcom, McGregor is the top executive and a board director for the global leader in semiconductors for wired and wireless communications, generating $4.5 billion in 2009 revenues with 7,400 employees worldwide. He joined Broadcom in January 2005 after serving as the president and chief executive officer of Philips Semiconductor, a $6billion subsidiary of the Netherlandsbased Royal Philips Electronics. His sevenyear tenure at Philips began as the head of the subsidiary's Emerging Business unit, which focused on the rapidly growing market for smart cards, networking, digital media and radiofrequency identification (RFID). Prior to Philips, McGregor was senior vice president and general manager of Santa Cruz Operation Inc., a provider of network computing solutions, and served in senior management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, Microsoft Corporation and Xerox Corporation.

McGregor received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in psychology and a master's degree in computer science and computer engineering from Stanford University.
