Kontron ETX-DC serves the extreme embedded computing needs of Glacier Computer's Everest products

New case study details how ETX computer-on-modules perform in harsh environment industrial computers
(PresseBox) (Poway, CA, ) The Kontron ETX-DC Computeron-Module (COM) has been designed into Glacier Computer's new line of Everest industrial computers. A new case study recently released by Kontron details how the company's COMs delivered the embedded computing solution Glacier required to meet its product reliability goals. The Kontron ETX-DC met Glacier's needs for a standardsbased platform that could operate 24/7 in high levels of vibration and withstand wide temperature extremes on forklifts that operate in -20°F freezers and then out onto loading docks where temperatures can vary by more than 80 to 100 degrees.

Kontron's case study on the ETX-DC solution for Glacier Computer also covers the following results:

-Ideal for fanless designs in harsh environments that require passive cooling
-Based on the energysaving Intel Atom N270 processor; offers an optimal balance between excellent performance and very low power
-The wellestablished ETX 3.0 form factor provides a scalable standardsbased computing platform
-Simple configuration and installation enables companies to adopt productive new industrial applications
