Kodak Graphic Communication Group Launches in Ethiopia

Local print service providers to benefit from market-leading print solutions
(PresseBox) (Geneva, Switzerland, ) Ethiopian print service providers are set to have access to industry-leading print technology following Kodak's launch of its Graphic Communication Group in the region. The launch will be staged at the Hilton Addis Ababa on May 25 from 5pm in cooperation with Kodak distributor Typotech Imaging Systems Ltd.

With many print businesses in the territory currently using older systems, having access to the latest print technologies will enable them to operate more efficiently and improve quality. Kodak systems will also enable print service providers in the region to diversify and broaden their product portfolio, which can help them move into new local and international markets and generate additional revenue.

Transforming the Ethiopian print landscape

The Ethiopian market predominantly comprises commercial and publishing printers. By investing in the latest Kodak print systems and workflow solutions, print service providers will be able to overhaul the way the produce core products, such as direct mail, transactional documents, newspapers, magazines, books and catalogs etc. Local distributor, Typotech is convinced the Kodak solutions fit the Ethiopian market needs perfectly, as Mr. Alfred Kandarah, Managing Director for Typotech, indicates: "The local market is ready for the Kodak prepress, press and workflow solutions. The output these deliver is unmatched and greatly desired by local printers and publishers."

Kris Capiau, Commercial Business Manager, comments: "After researching the Ethiopian print market it became clear that many print service providers are making do with older equipment - the majority are using CTF, with very few operating with CTP and digital technology. This makes it a struggle to deliver not only the quality their customers expect, but also to meet the ever-shorter turnaround times."

Ms. Katja Poetzsch, Category Business Manager Prepress and Unified Workflow Solutions, adds on a final note: "Kodak's launch in the territory will change that situation. Local printers will have access to the same technology as that used by the largest print operations around the world. By investing in cutting-edge Kodak solutions, printers will create a more level playing field - they will be able to streamline the way they operate, enhance the quality of their output, and ultimately become more competitive and profitable."
