Second Edition of the ENTSO-E CIM Profile and Registration for the ENTSO-E Interoperability Test "CIM for System Development and Operations" 2013

(PresseBox) (Brussels, ) ENTSO-E has agreed to continue using the 1st edition of the ENTSO-E Common Information Model profile (CIM) based on CIM14, before approving the 2nd edition of the ENTSO-E CIM profile currently based on CIM16. The development of the 2nd edition of the ENTSO-E CIM profile is progressing well, with the next interoperability test planned for July 2013.

Although ENTSO-E is confident that the draft version 2.3 of the 2nd edition of the ENTSO-E CIM profile, last tested in July 2012, is in line with the development of the future TSO data exchanges, ENTSO-E requires additional tests to be performed in 2013.

The next Interoperability test (IOP) will validate important CIM functionalities such as dynamics, high-voltage direct current (HVDC), operational exchanges, wind modelling and the resolution of issues identified in the IOP 2012. The next version of the 2nd edition of the ENTSO-E CIM profile will be prepared based on the draft IEC CIM version 16. The next decision on implementation of the 2nd edition of the ENTSO-E CIM profile will take place after the ENTSO-E CIM Interoperability Tests (IOP) in 2013, i.e. in October/ November 2013.

Registration for the ENTSO-E IOP "CIM for System Development and Operations" 2013 is now open. Vendors are requested to register by sending the registration form to cim.iop@entsoe.eu before Friday 18 January 2013, 17:00 CET.
