Precision molded optics for high resolution laser projectors

LightPath's extensive line of precision molded optics offers key advantages to manufacturers of laser projectors
Precision molded optics for high resolution laser projectors (PresseBox) (Martinsried, ) High resolution laser projectors are breakthrough projectors that do not use a traditional bulb. They instead use a combination of laser beams to create the illumination source, which is commonly referred to as a laser light engine. A laser light engine can contain several solid state lasers, make use of collimating lenses and their light output can be delivered with a fiber optic cable. LightPath Technologies, whose products are distributed by AMS Technologies throughout Europe, offers a range of optics that can be employed in the development of a laser light engine.

LightPath's portfolio of precision molded aspheric lenses and assemblies contains specific designs for blue, green and red wavelength applications. The products' small form factor supports the industry's drive to make product smaller. Molded In Place (MIP) lenses are also available. These lenses are molded directly into metallic holders retaining precision tolerances and eliminating the need to use epoxy when incorporating the lenses into a package. The portfolio is completed by fiber delivery systems.

LightPath offers both standard and custom optics, including full engineering design support for both optics and mechanics. This allows for the highest level of optical integration, lower cost and ensures the highest level of quality, performance and manufacturability.

One break through application for laser projectors is in the digital cinema market where there is demand for higher brightness presentation of movies, especially 3D movies. Additional markets include other digital projection applications, digital signage and solid state illumination.

AMS Technologies and LightPath Technologies will present their products and competencies at booth 301 and 309 in hall B1 at Laser World of Photonics from 13th to 16th May 2013.
