DMC 2014 (PresseBox) (Chemnitz, ) 25 teams from a total of 99 universities in 28 countries took part in this year’s DATA MINING CUP competition (DMC). It came to a close on 14.05.2014 and has been one of the world’s leading university and student competitions in the field of intelligent data analysis for the past 15 years. Participants submitted a total of 57 results this year.

The student teams had six weeks to develop a solution for a data mining problem on the topic of optimal return prognosis. More specifically, the goal was to use an online shop’s historical purchase data to come up with a model for new orders that would calculate the probability of a purchase leading to a return. Attractive cash and other prizes await the winners.

Prizes will be awarded to the best DMC teams during the prudsys User Days 2014, which take place from 2-3 July 2014 at andel‘s Hotel in Berlin.
