AMS Technologies presents Zing™ Bow-Tie Single Polarization Fibers for All-Fiber Polarizers

The Zing™ fiber is designed to support only one polarization mode over a specified wavelength range / This fiber can be useful for manufacturing fiber polarizers or in experiments where only one orientation of polarization is desirable
The Zing-Fiber : Rapid bend loss on the loosely guided fast axis, Strong guidance on the slow axis and >100nm polarizing window possible at the chosen operating window (PresseBox) (Martinsried, ) Single polarization or polarizing fibers need around 40% more birefringence than a standard PM fiber to deliver optimum performance. Only Fibercore's unique, Bow-Tie design can generate these levels routinely. Covering a wide range of the infrared spectrum, the high birefringence polarizing fibers can be used for a broad variety of applications: from Fiber Optic Gyroscopes (FOGs) to fiber lasers, diode light sources and current sensors.

In FOGs the Zing™ Fiber will provide an "all fiber polarizer" that will improve the Polarization Extinction Ratio (PER) while improving the mechanical reliablity of the optical components of the gyroscope.

In fiber lasers the Zing™ Fiber will reduce the package height of the fiber laser while controlling the polarization state of the output signal.

In diode light sources the Zing™ Fiber will improve the PER of the diode and will lower the polarization noise in polarimetric sensor systems.

Typical applications are Fiber Lasers, Laser diodes, Fiber Optic Gyroscopes (FOGs), Current sensors and Interferometric sensors.
